Windsurfing: Westward Ho! Wind Direction: wsw Wind Stength: f8 Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered:
After another hammering in the tent all night, The view out over Croyde bay
was a nice sight to wake to.Huge Swells white caps, froth,& huge wind.
Driving round towards Saunton the Swells/waves/rolling swells were coming
in from the point all the way to the beach, the normally looking big bay
now looked small with the amount waves etc filling the whole bay all the
way over to Westward Ho! A very spectacular sight.
At the ho! it was near high tide, i opted for 3.8m, 1 other turned up,he
said the locals had sailed early & now gone.
There was a lot water moving about with some crazy seas, i ventured out a
bit but the other local guy hugged the shore so i didnt go out to far with
mast high white water about it was a bit scary at times, but certainly got
the adrenaline pumping.Jumps were sometimes huge sideways floating
thingys,:) with off the lips back up the beach.Just sailing over the waves
turned into long floaty jumps requiring commitment not to wipe out. Down
towards the river mouth it was alot less scary with large gaps between the
waves, fully powered on 3.8m & little board this was great sailing.
The best.....
